Banned Together Book Fest

Location

Ferndale, MI

Role

Creative Director

Banned Together Book Fest is a book festival that occurs in Downtown Ferndale during Banned Books Week. It is a place to gather and honor the boundless power of storytelling while ensuring every reader and every story has a home. This single-day event brings together authors, vendors, and panels to confront censorship and celebrate the voices that the system works to silence.

Serving as the Creative Director, I spearheaded a creative team to execute a comprehensive brand evolution under new event leadership. My focus remained on high-level strategy: drafting creative briefs, assembling a specialized team, and guiding the brand through a complex rollout.

In collaboration with designer Chad Esper and his partner owners of Fables & Tale Co., we developed a visual identity that balances inclusivity with advocacy. We executed a full brand rollout of 40+ unique assets, including digital activations and social media deliverables for a 1,000 person event. This project allowed me to lead a Creative Director first and a designer second.
